The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has partnered with Slvr Wlf Digitale Ltd to host the first ever International Tourism Summit Oyo State tagged #ITSOyoState2024. The two-day event is envisioned as an immersive knowledge-sharing event which will culminate in a Governor’s Dinner and Awards Night.
Speaking about the event, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, said this first-of-its-kind event will bring together government, tourism stakeholders and enthusiasts for no-holds-barred conversations on how to move the tourism sector forward. The commissioner said, “Government cannot do it alone. This is why we are seeking collaborations from investors. This event will help all relevant stakeholders see that Oyo State is ready for tourism investment.”
The tourism summit, themed “Repositioning Tourism as a Driver of Sustainable Economic Growth in Oyo State,” is billed to be held on 17 and 18 April 2024. It will feature plenaries, panel discussions, talks, symposiums and presentations with His Excellency Seyi Makinde, FNSE, headlining the event as the keynote speaker.
“We all know that His Excellency is the Chief Marketing Officer of Oyo State, so we should not be surprised that he has thrown his weight behind this event. The Governor’s Dinner and Awards Night, especially, will reward individuals and organisations that have supported Oyo State’s tourism development so far. This will surely encourage more people to invest in tourism in Oyo State,” Dr Olatubosun said.
Also speaking on the tourism summit the Director of Operations of Slvr Wlf Digitale Ltd, Mr Lanre Akinola, said that the company was excited to work with the Oyo State Government on this event. He said as a communications and content marketing agency, Slvr Wlf was at the forefront of promoting development in the State. He said with the focus on tourism development in Oyo State, Slvr Wlf would continue to work to position Oyo State to receive investors.
